All About the Brazilian
Amazon Rainforest
By Sammy Fernandes
This website conveys a wide-range of research and investigation about governmental policies in the world's largest tropical rainforest — ranging from the amount of money going into the protection of the Amazon, data on how much the land has been deforested, who is at fault, and future projections of the forest tipping point of self-destruction if nothing is done.
This work is important beyond the fact that the Amazon is an icon on the tremendous amount of carbon dioxide it absorbs from the atmosphere — we all know that. The work is important because the Brazilian government has, for years, neglected the increase of deforestation rate for every political party that gets into power. To that, there must be transparency and an end.
